First Step in Addition or Renovation
Creating and signing a design contract is the first step in any addition or renovation. This design contract includes reviewing your survey or plat, looking at lot lines, doing a zoning and planning review, a design review, and reviewing cost. Once all reviews are completed you will have your final architectural drawings, finishes and selections, and price!

MHD Builds is an Alexandria-based, licensed class A general contractor specializing in residential design-build work. MHD Builds was founded in 2015 by Mary Hall Denby after studying architecture, and working both as an architecturlal designer and a general construction manager for almost a decade. Our goal is to create and elevate living spaces that work for our clients and their families. We specialize in single family homes, town homes, and condo renovations stretching from bathroom renovations to multistory home extensions.
