Mary Denby, Owner
MHD Builds was founded by Mary Denby, who holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and worked in several architecture offices before moving to the world of construction in 2007. Mary fell in love with architecture in the 5th grade and has never looked back. She founded MHD Builds in 2015 to help her clients bring their visions to life. Mary, her husband and their two teenagers live in Del Ray and love traveling the globe exploring, new places and cultures.
Jessica Waldorf, Project Manager
Jessica Waldorf leads production as MHD Builds’ seasoned Project Manager. Jessica is a south Florida native with a bachelor’s degree in interior design. Her experience of 20 years spans from a family tile business to interior design to construction. On weekends she, her husband and dog love to go hiking.
Stephanie Arbieto, Architectural Designer
Stephanie, an Alexandria native, brings 10 years of architectural experience to her role as Architectural Designer. Currently pursuing licensure and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), she focuses on helping people live better and longer lives in their homes. Away from work, Stephanie enjoys board games at breweries and walks with her partner and two dogs.
Marylu Benitez, Selections Coordinator
Marylu Benitez joined the MHD Builds team in 2021. Marylu studied and has worked in interior design for over a decade and works with our clients to select their finishes and fixtures. Marylu and her husband keep their plates full raising their 4 children.
Enrique Mendez, Alvaro Mendez, & Cristian Mendez, Lead Carpenters
Keeping it in the family, our lead carpenters are Enrique Mendez, Alvaro Mendez and Cristian Mendez. Enrique has been with MHD Builds since our founding and is an expert carpenter and excellent problem solver. Alvaro joined our team in 2016 and is a great leader, talented carpenter and always has a smile. Cristian is a skilled craftsman with a quick wit that joined our team in 2019 as a carpenter and has honed his skills to move up to lead carpenter. Each of our lead carpenters has a crew of 2-3 skilled carpenters that work together with them on their projects.
